All of our therapists and aestheticians are licensed by the state of Massachusetts. Some are licensed in other states and/or are nationally certified.
All of our staff is committed to continuing their education. Our therapists have been trained in a diverse variety of massage modalities. When you call for an appointment we will attempt to match you up with the right therapist for your particular situation.
Many of you already know Ashley who started working at Essential Therapies as a high school student in 2016. She is now our Front Desk Manager. Ashley recently graduated with her manicurist license from Cosmix School of Beauty Science in Marlborough, MA. She enjoys giving gel manicures and pedicures, being creative with designs and embellishments, and giving customized care to your feet. Ashley's next goal is to become an esthetician and is excited to further her career in self-care and wellness.
Brianna comes from a background in Physical Therapy and has a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island. She is a recent graduate of Bancroft School of Massage Therapy and offers relaxation, stretching, deep tissue, myofascial work, trigger point therapy, traction, and scar treatment. Brianna's favorite area to work on is the neck/back and loves helping her clients feel better and rejuvenated. Her experience working with Physical Therapists has taught her the importance of combining massage with stretching and therapeutic exercises as an effective way of healing.
Emilie graduated from Spa Tech Institute in October of 2020, having had prior experience in biology and chemistry. She performs a vast selection of facial services including microdermabrasion, along with waxing services. Emilie is also certified in lash and brow laminating, tinting, and lash lifts. She is fun-loving, bubbly, and outgoing. Emilie takes pride in understanding all ingredients in products to achieve the main goal of clients feeling confident and comfortable in their own skin.
Hayley is our Spa Manager and Massage Manager. She is a graduate of Spa Tech Institute and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She specializes in Swedish massage ranging in a light to medium firm pressure. She is also trained in trigger point, hot stones, prenatal/postnatal massage, and cupping therapy. Hayley uses her original training, continuing education and intuition to help meet her clients' individual needs. Let her smooth those tired, aching muscles, reduce discomfort and relax your mind.
Katie comes from a background in nursing and education. She is a recent graduate of Bancroft School of Massage Therapy and believes massage and energy work can help unify and aid in healing the whole self. Using a combination of fluid motion, nurturing touch and symmetry, Katie creates a relaxed state in the body and mind while tending to each client’s individual needs. She applies a mixture of deep tissue massage, myofascial work, and trigger point therapy to release muscle tension. Katie is also certified in cupping massage and enjoys integrating Lomi Lomi massage into her sessions. In May Katie received her certification in Lymphatic Drainage Massage.
Krista is a dual-licensed professional. She has been in the spa industry for 10 years for massage, specializing in deep tissue work but does many modalities including hot stone, Swedish, pregnancy, aromatherapy, reflexology, and training in lymphatic drainage. Krista has also been an esthetician for 8 years, providing many services which include facials, body treatments, waxing, microderm abrasion, dermaplaning, and lash and brow services. She prides herself in knowledge of skincare and what products work best for all of her clients' needs. Krista is bubbly and upbeat, loving what she does!
Megan graduated from Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics with a master’s certificate in 2015. She has an array of services to offer including customized facials, lash lifts and tints, and waxing. Megan is also a recent graduate of Bancroft School of Massage Therapy and offers massage, wet room and reiki treatments. Megan has a passion for improving the well-being of her clients by designing a treatment that best suits their wants and needs. Megan believes that self-care is crucial in keeping the balance between the mind, body and spirit.
Micaela received her aesthetics training at the Spa Tech institute in Westboro, Ma. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Art Therapy from Anna Maris College. Micaela specializes in various facial treatments and waxing. She loves working with people, and helping to make them look and feel their best.
Michele B. first started working at the front desk at the spa in February 2017 and has since completed her Aesthetics training at Spa Tech Institute in Westboro MA. She also has an associate's degree in Applied Sciences from Mt. Ida College. Michele enjoyed being a stay at home mom for 17 years and is very thankful that Essential Therapies came into her life. It's never too late to start something new! Michele does facials and waxing and enjoys sharing her passion for wellness and self-care.
Michelle M. is our Aesthetics Manager. She received her aesthetics training at Assabet Valley Tech and has a nail technician license from Rob Roy Academy. Michelle is also certified in Reiki I. Michelle does facials, waxing, wet room treatments and pedicures. She is also trained to do microdermabrasion and laser hair removal. She loves her job, and she enjoys helping people relax. Michelle brings a warm personality & a wonderful sense of humor to her sessions.
Peter, founder of Essential Therapies, retired from doing massage in January 2016 but will continue working part-time as an administrator at the spa.
Sarah graduated in 2013 from the Salter School of Massage Therapy in Tewksbury, MA. Her massages range from relaxtion massage to deeper work and focus work. She encorporates stretching into the massage treatments as well to help loosen and relax the muscles. Sarah is trained in hot stone massage as well as prenatal massage.
Tina is a recent graduate of Spa Tech Institute and graduated at the top of her class. After spending 20 years in the corporate world Tina decided to listen to her own words of advice and to live her best life, which led her to Massage Therapy. She strives to bring relief to those who are in pain, relaxation to those who are stressed, and restoration to those who are struggling to find balance. Tina is dedicated to providing clients with nurturing treatments to promote self-healing and specializes in Swedish massage with medium to heavy pressure.
